1. Who we are

This policy explains how Six13 Development (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2017/397490/07), “Six13”, “we” or “us”, handles personal information. We are a South African company and we process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

32 Lebombo Road, Ashlea Gardens, Pretoria, 0081, South Africa · jaco@six13.co.za · +27 82 880 1396

Our Information Officer is Jaco Malan, who can be reached at the contact details above.

2. What this policy covers

  • Our website, six13.co.za.
  • Apps we publish under our own name, such as VXFIT.
  • Systems we build and run for other businesses, such as the OVA Dealer App, Pulse, QMS, Spoke and Beacon. For these, the business we build for decides what personal information is collected and why, and we process it on their behalf and on their instructions. Their own privacy policy applies to you, and you should direct requests to them first. We will help them respond.

3. Our website

You can browse our website without creating an account or giving us any personal information. The website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.

  • Server logs. Like most websites, our web server automatically records technical information about each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested and your browser type. We use these logs only to keep the website secure and working, and keep them for a limited period.
  • Fonts. Our pages load a typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and Google receives your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.
  • When you contact us. If you email or phone us, we use your name, contact details and message only to reply to you and, if you become a client, to provide our services.

4. VXFIT

VXFIT is an iPhone training app published by Six13.

  • Your training data (plans, workouts, sets and scores) is stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
  • Apple Health. With your permission, VXFIT reads health data such as your step count and body weight to calculate your weekly scores. You can change or withdraw this permission at any time in the iPhone Settings or Health app. We never use Health data for advertising or marketing, and we never sell it.
  • AI coach. If you use the coach feature, the messages you send and the training information needed to answer them are sent to our server and to our AI provider, OpenAI, to generate a reply. The coach is optional; if you don’t use it, this information is not sent.
  • Exercise videos are streamed from our video hosting provider, which receives your IP address and basic technical information about each request so it can deliver them.

5. How we use and share personal information

We use personal information only for the purposes described above: to run our website and apps, to provide services our clients have asked for, to respond to you, to keep our systems secure, and to meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our services (such as hosting and AI providers), under obligations to keep it secure and use it only for that purpose, or where the law requires us to. Some of these providers are based outside South Africa; where information leaves South Africa, we take the steps POPIA requires to make sure it stays protected.

6. Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, access controls and restricted administrative access. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires.

7. Your rights

You have the right to ask whether we hold personal information about you, to see it, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. Email jaco@six13.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
